As to the data plate. The original data plate listed the IGSO-540B1A in it. That stays because that is the engine the aircraft was TC'd with. When the STC is completed an additional data plate in installed below the original listing the STC number and the IO-720-B1B engines. As for the line that looks automotive to you. It most probably is a Imperial Eastman 1/4 inch or 1/8th inch plastic line (similar to the pitot static lines on a Cessna) that is the "Upper Deck Reference" line that connects the all of the fuel and induction system components together.
