Hi Bert,
Well, that sounds a little better! Rather pleasing to know that it hasn't been
abandoned.
Very Best Regards,
Barry

| Barry,
|
| The reason its outside is because the old meusem was damage and they are now
in the process of finishing the new building. It won't be outside for very
long. Scott is my little Brother, i'll tell him you were pleased with the
photos.

Hi Scott,
Thanks! Bert usually sends me anything he gets, but a check would not go amiss.
I'm currently updating my photos/slides/negatives database. Currently comprises
9,029, but I think I've got a few more slides to do. This figure doesn't include
the digital images. There are quite a number of duplicate shots in that figure
though. One thing I must try to do is compile a 'hit list' of any serial numbers
for which I haven't got photographic coverage!
Very Best Regards,
Barry

| Barry,
|
| It was my pleasure to go and get the pictures. Bert and I both share an
affection for Aero and Jet Commanders. I just haven't expanded my knowledge
yet. I have some more photos that I have collected from Bert and the web that
I
will try and post when I get some spare time. I am sure that you have seen or
collected the ones that I have, but just in case I will post them.

You will replace some cylinders but if you maintain them and fly them right they
will go well beyond TBO.
I would especially recommend GAMI's and LOP (that should generate some discussion)
and attending John Deakins course in ADA OK.

Hi Alberto,
These are in my 'private' collection, built up over the last 40 years or so!
Perhaps one day, I'll get them all scanned!!
Any whiz-kids out there who can invent a 60-hour day?

Milt-
I've heard that I'll be using cylinders. That doesn't worry me nearly as
much as the engine replacement type work we are doing now.
LOP/ROP... A bit like "pitch or power" controls glidepath.
Seriously- I'd be interested in learning best techniques for operating 520-K
engines. Can you give more information on John Deakins and his course? I
have read the Operator's Manual published in 1988 by TCM and they recommend
100C ROP for EGT leaning and 50C ROP for leanest cylinder leaning. My
engine mechanic is strongly opinionated to ROP as well, although I want to
educate myself a bit before asking him why.
(I'm a turbine guy- and aside from the T-6, I don't have a lot of current
recip experience. The Pratt on the T-6 is probably the finest engine I've
ever flown and you could put marbles in the oil and it would continue to
run....)

Good Evening Again Folks,
A few minutes ago I sent a message recommending that everyone go to the APS
website to easily access John Deakin's engine management articles that were
originally on AvWeb. I just checked to see if my advice was good and find
that they have realigned the website. John's articles are no longer on the home
page. You need to click on the TECH button then look for the blurb on the
lower left side of the page that has all of the pertinent Deakin articles.
