Hi Gang!
If anyone sees N6226B, a Model 500, I wonder if they wil be kind enough to take
some photos of it for me.
Besides having IO-540-A1A5 Turbocharged engines with 3-blade props installed in
April 1964 under STC SA257CE, it was also modified with the installation of an
additional rear window. (It has also had an increase in MTOW, to 6,500lb.)
If at all possible, I'd like fairly close-up shots of the rear window area. I
suppose shots of the nacelles wouldn't go amiss either!
It is presently registered to D. Wayne Durham, of Easley, South Carolina.
If nobody knows the plane, then I'll try and telephone him.
Very Best Regards,
Barry C.

Barry,
I saw that airplane somewhere and I can't quite remember where. If you
do manage to acquire some pictures that you can email, I'd really
appreciate a copy if it wouldn't be too much trouble. I've wondered if
that same STC could work (with some minor changes) on the 520/560
models. Do you happen to know if they used the stock 500 engine mount
or if a new mount was part of the STC? I think the engine sits slightly
farther forward on the 500 than the 560 since the direct drive is
shorter than the geared engines, but maybe the cowl is just a few inches
shorter. An extended hub Hartzel (like off an Aztec) might be just what
that conversion needs to replace the GO-480 with an IO-540.....
