Subject: Commander-List: Looking for parts for a AC 680 FLP
(Note: I thought I sent this once, but I didn't get my copy. If this
is a repeat please excuse)
Gentlemen:
I'm looking for parts again. Need two items, one is needed ASAP.
Aircraft - 1964 Aero Commander 680 FLP w/Mr. RPM Conversion, SN
1479-6
Parts Needed:
1. ASAP - I need the idler arm, or bracket or whatever it may
be called, that attaches to the right engine on one end and to
the right engine alternator on the other end.
Midway on this bracket is the eccentric idler wheel used to adjust
belt tension. The arm has a slight bend to it
in near the middle. The old arm broke at the bolt hole on the engine
side. We've looked for a part number in the manuals
and on the part but no luck. I didn't think of it today, but
tomorrow I'll take a picture of the item in case that may
help anyone who thinks they might have a part.
So many of you guys out there are so
knowledgeable about the Aero Commanders you probably know how
much it weighs, what time of day it was made, and the
name of the wife and children of the guy who made it.
(Ha! Ha!)
2. Fuel cap - The cap used is about 2 1/2" diameter, and has a
zeus type fastener that engages the anti-siphon value in the
fuel tank. The small leaf spring on the cap I
have is about useless and I have to check after every refueling to
be sure the cap is locked in place because the
small leaf spring gets out of place and doesn't do it's job.
If anyone has such items please email me at
www.hcourier@cox.net<http://www.hcourier@cox.net/>. My cell phone is
850-217-5185, it's always with me, call
anytime. If I'm flying or asleep I turn it off otherwise it rules my
life.
Thank you,
Ray Mansfield

Heck Ray,
You're over on the "Redneck Riviera". You should take it over to Bubbas
Welding shop and Florist and "Geet er done" $20.00.
