Without the pressurization system the 720 is a 680E. Ask JimBob what he thinks of those ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Bow To: commander-list@matronics.com Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2006 5:58 AM Subject: Commander-List: The 720 Pardon me for trying to boiling this down to the most fundamental element$, but..... You are looking at a high powered Commander, the 720, with no pressurization. That description could fit a number of airplanes "on the block" right now. http://www.controller.com/listings/forsale/list.asp?catid=9&man=COMMA NDER&guid=59AACC8C2FC94841854D3FC7ED713A5E There are airplanes available here for less than $90,000 that were not designed with pressurization. It would be a lot cheaper to resurrect (if required) one of these airplanes that may not require as much "tweaking."(Money) as the 720. Personally, I'm not to sure about the value of the pressurization system on a piston Commander, if the system is not working. bilbo

Shawn, Stay in touch. Regards, Moe _____ From: owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Shawn Ashby Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2006 4:58 PM Subject: RE: Commander-List: Aero Commander 720 HI Moe>> I was going to look at it sometime later in the month... the owner is out of town starting the 18th... I'm located in SanLuis Obispo, CA KSBP. I'm pretty sure the plane is still parked at or near Rolling hills aviation in Torrance. It would be a big help to look at it with the help of a Commander efficiannato... or to just have someone stop by and gather intel for me. before I spend a day driving or flying down to see it. Lets keep in touch SHAWN Moe - Ross Racing Pistons <moe@rosspistons.com> wrote: Shawn, Where are you located? I am about 10 miles from TOA. Also I have the repair manual of the 720 Alta Cruiser. I will be in Florida for a week, if you want I can go have a "look see" week after next. This is truly a wonderful site that is helpful, beneficial and enjoyable to the current and future Commander owners. I do not know this machine. However, the first critical thing you need to find out is if it can be ferried to a site where work can take place. That is, unless you have available hangar space at KTOA. I purchased a 560E that had been sitting unmoved and exposed to the weather in Compton, Ca. for nine years. Getting it flyable so it could begin a six year restoration was an arduous and costly task.....worth evey minute and dollar spent. There's an Aero Commander 720 in Torrance, CA KTOA N138K does anyone know anything about this particular airplane? history, previous owners maybe insight into it's condition. I do know it was last flown regualarly in 83-84 ferried in '86 and again in '96. Any 720 or 680E owners out there with advice? I remembered some discussion about this one and it finally registered, it was about the intake tube on the right front and the speculation on what it was for. Thanks, Bert
