Bill, As it turns out, Nick works very close to me, and he came over and bought the manual that I had. Think he is still looking for the black box for the fuel gages. I love the 55X - in the Cirrus, integrated with the Avidyne. I HATE the 55X in the 340/414 because it is more work than hand flying. The Bendix in the Commander is far preferable to the 55X with the remote annunciator, unless it is coupled with a glass display. I've got the 60-2 in my 500S. It works beautifully. -----Original Message----- From: Brock Lorber [mailto:owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Brock Lorber Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 7:49 PM Subject: RE: Commander-List: S-TEC autopilots [bcc][faked-from][html-rem] I love the 55X - in the Cirrus, integrated with the Avidyne. Brock, S-TEC used my 500-A for the FAA approval of the S-TEC 65 back in 1988. They coupled it to my PN 101HSI. and it has worked great until about three months and it sounds like what is wrong is minor, just have not had time to get fixed. It is different from most of the autopilots I was used to except the one on the L-101. I got every thing but the yaw damper and we did not think the Commander needed it.
