I am rather new to this list. The website looks very nice and appears that it was updated a few years ago. (I've been poking around the site for yea rs, as one of these days I'm going to own an Aero Commander. I think the t ime is soon.) But I must observe that I thought the website was abondoned. There are broken links, ASP failures, SQL errors on databases lookups, an noucments for dates that have past, the 520 specifications has been wrong f or a long as I can remember, and there does not appears to be any new conte nt added in a while. What are the intentions of this website. I'd love t o see this website become a great source for Aero Commander information, su ch as manuals, photos, stories, advice, service bulletins, checklists, etc. Todd Trainor, PMP Project Manager HP C&I Storage 810-225-4929 ________________________________ From: owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-commander-lis t-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of nico css Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2007 3:30 PM Subject: RE: Commander-List: Heater installation www.aerocommander.com<http://www.aerocommander.com> I need to take off the 2007 fly-in announcement, but otherwise it should be in a workable state. I have to replace my cabin heater in the 680FLP, (therefore it's the one in stalled in the back). I have the Mr. RPM conversion and am no longer pressurized, (some of the pl umbing for that appears to be removed). The direct replacement for it does not fit at all so the engineers have put it back in the box and plan on sending my heater with it so the assembler of the other heater will know what it looks like and what it has to fit. My engineers have asked me to get help from you all in the form of pictures of the duct work that carries the air from the scoop to the heater as well as any air plumbing in the tail. Harry, do you have pictures of yours you can send? Thanks for anything anyone can send. Hi Todd, I haven't looked at the "Models" section of the Website and you're absolutely right, the details given for the Model 520 are totally wrong! In fact, it looks as though most of the specifications for many of the Models are wrong, and the Specifications for one Model have been repeated for other Models. The details shown for the Model 520 are, in fact, those for the Model 500 and the Model 520 details appear when Model 560 is selected! It looks as though when I get the proverbial 5 minutes, I'll have prepare a new listing for Nico to get the correct details against each of the Models. Grateful thanks for pointing this out Todd! You guys are, of course, absolutely right. Sorry about that. I think I asked for specs for the other models at the time when I built out the scope of the models but when nothing was forthcoming (I am not pointing fingers here) it went out of mind. Without specs for some models I merely duplicated the specs of what I had to 'fill' the pages but it was not meant for it to remain so for that long. I added the jets and singles onto the site as well. I will post new and updated specs if someone would furnish them. It is in the plan also that the site's design be altered to make it fit the viewer's browser so that content can be more productively shown. The models I show were harvested from all over the 'net and not all of them had the correct aspect ratio, which explains the distortion on some of them. The broken links need to be fixed. Hi Barry, Next year is fine, thanks. :-D You can do it in HTML, or pure text if you wish. I'll set the font, size and color in the style sheets. If there are tables of information, doing it in HTML with tables already laid out will save me a boat-load of time, but if you don't have the time to get it laid out, I'll have someone sit down and do it. I just received my newsletter. It's very nicely done and I sat down and read the whole thing. Thanks Jim. I noticed that the side-note with the article "What's in a name" mentions that the brochures from Guillaume Ravery are being scanned up for publication on the website. That reminded me of the hundreds of articles, brochures and other stuff that Bert and others have sent, which I scanned up on one of my sites. That server is now in a locked colocation site and I cannot get to it and the hosting company doesn't return my calls. It's been out of commission and inaccesible for more than a month now. So, I am busy digging through archives and email messagges trying to retrieve all the material that was sent. As soon as that is complete, I will publish them onto the website also. Next year... ;- | I thought I'd just give you guys a heads-up on the situation, which causes most of the broken links on the website. The models I show were harvested from all over the 'net and not all of them had the correct aspect ratio, which explains the distortion on some of them. The broken links need to be fixed. Hi Nico, I'll put something together in a Word .doc file, in tabled format and keep it to roughly four or five Models per file. That ought to fit on one page. Then, when you get the first file you can let me know if it's all OK< or whether you'd like the info 'tweaked' (a little) or revamped (a lot). There could well be information that doesn't tie-up with what was there previously. In such cases, query them of course, but bear in mind a lot of 'rubbish' has been previously published over the years and I do have the benefit of a former Aero Commander Engineer helping me ensure that everything is right! I've got a little 'project' to complete, but should be able to get something to you very early next week. Best Regards, Barry ----- Original Message ----- From: nico css To: commander-list@matronics.com Sent: Friday, December 28, 2007 7:54 PM Subject: RE: Commander-List: www.aerocommander.com Hi Barry, Next year is fine, thanks. :-D You can do it in HTML, or pure text if you wish. I'll set the font, size and color in the style sheets. Thanks, Nico _____ From: owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Barry Collman Sent: Friday, December 28, 2007 8:08 AM Subject: Re: Commander-List: www.aerocommander.com Hi Nico, I will get the correct Specs to you, but will need a little time. I may not be able to get round to doing it until next year ;-) Let me know what format you want the data in, plus font and size etc. Best Regards, Barry ----- Original Message ----- From: nico css <mailto:nico@cybersuperstore.com> Sent: Friday, December 28, 2007 3:16 PM Subject: RE: Commander-List: www.aerocommander.com You guys are, of course, absolutely right. There are broken links, ASP failures, SQL errors on databases lookups, annoucments for dates that have past, the 520 specifications has been wrong for a long as I can remember, and there does not appears to be any new content added in a while.
