Hello, My name is Octavio Viveros, I recently joined the list a few days ago. I am amazed with the amount of knowledge you guys have. My sincere respect for the "grey hairs". I fly an Airbus319 on the left seat for living and to get money to maintain a 500U. Recently we have been investing a lot of time on the commander for its annual inspection. I have been in contact with this aircraft for the last eight years but I have owned it only since 2006. I am trying to make up my mind between keeping the aircraft or selling it. I just bought a new apartment because I am planning to get married soon (ga in a wife loose an aircraft, what a bad bad business!) but that's another s tory. I am glad to be part of the list as the only contributor located south of t he border. I will post a picture of my commander as soon as I find the way to do it. Greetings. Randy (and others), When replacing the hoses be sure to replace the most important one on the plane. This would be the hose that goes to the Hyd. Pressure gageinside the plane. When I first purchased N680RR my former mechanic was to change all of the hoses on the plane, however, he did not replace that hose. Sometime, later it broke which ruined my favorite cowboy boots, my girlfriend's purse, the carpet, and a large part of the interior including the leather on some seats. Surprising how much damage five gallons of Skydrol can do to the inside of a plane. Hello, My name is Craig Kennedy. New here. This thread got me laughing as I recently purchased a 65 560F. Months of supposed maintenance and new fuel cells, with lots of pictures to show the wife on progress, I went to TN to bring the new "baby" home. The baby is now sitting in TX, half way home, 2 engines making metal, fuel dripping, and seeping, and all the pictures are of parts being removed for overhaul. Something makes me think the wife will not be adopting this bird any time soon! Craig "Keith S. Hello Octavio, Welcome on board! I am an aviation historian, specialising in the history of each of the Commanders ever built. My database currently comprises over 92,500 records. The last I knew of 500U-1668-17 was as XA-TMW, registered to Taxi Aereo De Morelia SAdeCV., in Morelia, Michoacan. To help keep me up-to-date, would you please be kind enough to let me know who your Commander is now registered to, and the date of registration. Your help will, of course, be very much appreciated. Commanders- I thought I'd run this one by the group to see if anyone has any answers- or knows where to look for answers. Our 685 was in California for a wing spar inspection- and upon return we have found that the flaps will not travel beyond half while in flight. On the ground, full range of travel is available, but no matter how slowly I fly- they will not move beyond half travel in flight. The hydraulic system is producing about 1100PSI and both EDPs are able to maintain that pressure independently- so I don't think it is a system load issue. (Gear operates fine- etc. ) This airplane does not like to slow down without the extra drag when coming down the chute- so I'm hoping someone has some hints or pointers. My shop hasn't found anything obvious. Anyone have any ideas? Robert S. Randazzo

Robert, I'd have two guys, one at each flap, pushing up and backwards against the flap, simulating aerodynamic pressure, and then lower the flaps. If the track is worn, out of alignment (if that's possible), or loose that it prevents the flap from traveling all the way down, it might show up during this exercise. It's a wild guess but that's what would worry me most. Nico _____ From: owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Robert S. That is correct Barry, AC500U 1668-17 was registered to Taxi Aereo de Morel ia where I used to be a shareholder untill few months ago. As a part of the agreement I took XA-TMW and registered it under my name. The tail number t hen changed to XB-KSK (switching from XA commercial airplane to XB private airplane) which was assigned only a few weeks ago. Just FYI I haven't even painted the new tail number. Right now the airplane is under annual inspect ion where we are putting the props down to zero time, installing new turboc hragers and couple of things more including the painting of the new tail nu mber. I will gladly provide you with a copy of the document where the airplane wa s deleted from the Air Taxi fleet as well as the document that states the c hange of owner just for your records. I am still in the process of knowing how to use correctly the mail list wit h out bothering you guys with heavy files, so I will be sending them direct ly to your personal e-mail Barry. I have located three other commanders abandoned in differenet mexican aripo rts where I fly. I will get their serial numbers and send them to you as we ll. Thank you very much and nice to meet you.
