Hi Guys, John Towner cannot post messages to the group, so has asked me to post the following on his behalf. Certainly looking forward to meeting Bob, but all my 'old' friends too! Best Regards, Barry Sir Barry & the TCFG entourage, I thought you would like to know Bob Hoover called me this morning and said he received my note about our TCFG get together at Carson City and he would love to come to our Thursday night dinner SEP 17 and meet all of the crazy Commander people he has heard about. You might run your historian search on N500RA from birth to the Smithsonian. I know he would get a chuckle. Hoov ask if he can bring his friend if he pays for him and I said you can bring your friend but you cannot pay for him. PS - I called JimBob this afternoon and told him the good news. He was enroute to Carson City to do a little leg work and get it all ready for the TCFG get together. You know my computer will not let me on the chat page but you are welcome to share my e-mail with all of the TCFG Commander folks. Oh, Andrew is coming to Carson City/Reno this year too. YOUR FRIEND, John Towner :-)

Hi Gil, Capt JimBob had reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn, in Carson City (775) 885-8800, but a room had to be booked before August 17th, after which date they will have been released for general bookings. If you try to get the Twin Commander Flight Group (TCFG) rate, quote them reference # TWI. I'm wondering how unvalued, unowned property that "produces" unowned, unvalued results with no competition or incentives to do it better can be described as "valuable". Are there other wind tunnels? Do they produce more or less value per data point? What is the bright line where $/data point goes from "valuable" to "waste of money?" Are the data points salable? Do they produce a profit or loss? Is there too much profit per data point? Too much loss? 1.5 billion gallons of petroleum per year seems significant. Is there some reason the beneficiaries of that savings aren't willing to fund their own savings? Is there some reason 1.5 billion gallons wouldn't be expressed in the normal 3.6 million barrels? That still seems significant. What is special about Old Dominion students vs. any other university or lab? Do the other students have to pay Old Dominion for access? Do discoveries belong to Old Dominion, their students, Langley, other students, their universities, or sponsoring organizations? Do they profit? Are they unwilling to pay? Will Old Dominion fail without this tunnel? Have they pursued other means of attracting students? How many students will go uneducated because they don't attend Old Dominion? Are there other alternatives? Who determines "pinpointed, practical, and affordable"? Is there a committee? Who is on the committee, and what are their qualifications, biases, and fiduciary responsibilities? How does one know that "American science and technology still needs the research the tunnel provides today and in the future"? If the outcome is known, doesn't it pretty much negate the point of research? Isn't it just as possible that American science and technology would be better off without the tunnel? If we can declare the relativity, can't we also just declare the result? Does historic = valuable? Many questions, Brock -----Original Message----- From: owner-commander-list-server@matronics.com on behalf of yourtcfg@aol.com Sent: Thu 8/27/2009 7:09 PM Subject: Commander-List: Fwd: LFST READ THIS FOLKS, AND RESPOND!!!!! jb -----Original Message----- From: Morris Kernick <comserv500s@gmail.com> Sent: Wed, Aug 26, 2009 10:36 pm Subject: Fwd: LFST Jim: Have you read about this?
