The hotel is full, but if you call and speak with Stu Wexler he will get you on a waiting list or may be able to work something out.? If not, there is a Holiday Inn? (877-863-4780) right across the street from the Hampton that may have room.? ~jb -----Original Message----- From: WINGFLYER1@aol.com Sent: Thu, Aug 27, 2009 6:31 pm Subject: Re: Commander-List: Fly-In Thanks Barry, I`ll give it a try. Capt JimBob had reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn, in Carson City (775) 885-8800, but a room had to be booked before August 17th, after which date they will have been released for general bookings. If you try to get the Twin Commander Flight Group (TCFG) rate, quote them reference # TWI. ? Thanks Gil ? In a message dated 8/27/2009 3:15:59 A.M. Central America Standard T, barry.collman@air-britain.co.uk writes: Hi Guys, ? John Towner cannot post messages to the group, so has asked me to post the following on his behalf. ? Certainly looking forward to meeting Bob, but all my 'old' friends too! ? Best Regards, Barry ? Sir Barry & the TCFG entourage, I thought you would like to know Bob Hoover called me this morning and said he received my note about our TCFG get together at Carson City and he would love to come to our Thursday night dinner SEP 17 and meet all of the crazy Commander people he has heard about.? You might run your historian search on N500RA from birth to the Smithsonian.? I know he would get a chuckle.? Hoov ask if he can bring his friend if he pays for him and I said you can bring your friend but you cannot pay for him. PS - I called JimBob this afternoon and told him the good news.? He was enroute to Carson City to do a little leg work and get it all ready for the TCFG get together.? You know my computer will not let me on the chat page but you are welcome to share my e-mail with all of the TCFG Commander folks.? Oh, Andrew is coming to Carson City/Reno this year too. YOUR FRIEND, John Towner? :-) t href="http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List">http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List ms.matronics.com/">http://forums.matronics.com tp://www.matronics.com/contribution">http://www.matronics.com/contribution href="http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List">http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List href="http://forums.matronics.com">http://forums.matronics.com href="http://www.matronics.com/contribution">http://www.matronics.com/c =================================== t href="http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List">http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Commander-List =================================== ms.matronics.com/">http://forums.matronics.com =================================== tp://www.matronics.com/contribution">http://www.matronics.com/contribution ===================================

I remember the Langley Wind tunnel.- My father worked at one operated by the defence department in tullahoma Tenn.- He transfered to Hampton and w orked on the NASA tunnel for a few years. - The Langley tunnel was outdated even in the 60's when Dad worked there.- They had already transitioned from subsonic to transonic studies.-Now the latest tunnel studies are done using "water-Tunnels".- Much less expensi ve, can simulate sub-sonic and trans-sonic conditions. - the Gift of the tunnel to ODC was a great gesture.- Thier engineering Dep artment may get some use from it.- However, It is far more likely that OD C will gain much more from the Property it sits on, which is orders of magn itude more valuable.- And the land doesnt require thousands of dollars to maintain. - wer=0A=0A=0A
