My collection of prints, negatives and slides numbers just over 9,300. All of the negatives have been scanned (approx. 2,300) and I=99m in the process of scanning the color slides (approx. 2,200 scanned; approx. 900 still to do). Additionally, I have approx. 17,000 digital images, not including those already mentioned. Bert Berry also has a vast collection, which comprises over 10,000. Included in our coverage are a number of unidentified Commanders that we are unable to identify from shots that we have in our collections. These include a good number of Commanders that have probably been confiscated South of the Texas border and the aircraft s/n plates have, in most cases, probably been removed. The photographer was there unable to check the s/n, or was perhaps not allowed to inspect the plate, if indeed it was a genuine factory example. Some shots enable us to at least identify the correct Model, thereby narrowing down the list of possible candidates. They also enable us to possibly note any modifications that have been made over the years, thereby providing yet further clues. Therefore, any shots received will always be extremely useful to us. Even shots of active examples in the USA help, as they will at least enable us to eliminate them as a =98suspect=99. So, if anybody has any shots, albeit active, derelict, or whatever, then *please* send them in. They date and location are helpful items of info too, if known. So, if you=99re visiting any new airports, taking a camera with you in case any Commanders are around will be a good idea! I cannot recommend a good paint shop, but I know there are guys on the chatlist who can help. Any shots of your 680, whether it=99s as N6220D, N96KY, N710TK or N6819Q, will be very welcome as a quick check reveals that I=99ve got no shots whatsoever of s/n 680-448-159! N6000N last flew about 12-2009 and was removed from service on Oct 12-2010. The remains of the airframe and paperwork were transferred to Northeast Air (A Twin Commander service center) in Portland Maine. Don't know why they wanted her???? There is a straight 680 rotting in Nampa Idaho (N985RA I think). It has been grounded by the FAA and will likely never fly again. I shouldl be there next week on a delivery and snap some pix and send them.
