| Subject: | n666me another one bites the dust |

hi barry. it seems that everyone is restoring older commanders these days, but
some get cut up for scrap more often. i am not sure who owned the plane when
it was cut up, but the story goes something like this. a doctor bought the plane
in chile and brought it to lantana, florida where his pilot was going to
WORK ON IT AND GET it readY To go to africa. it was going to do missionary work.
i assume that THIs where N666ME came from.

it has probably been on the field for five years. I sent you photos when it first
appeared, but i am terrible with time now that i am getting older. two or
three years ago thae pilot was killed when he was ferrying a Cirrus acRoss the
north atlantic. Shortly thereafter all work stopped on the plane.

without maintenance corrosion appeared and i am told the doctor (owner) died and
his heirs were not interested in puting any money into it it aCCUMULATED A
STORAGE BILL and apparently also had a maintenance bill that had not been paid.
The county and the mechanic foreclosed their liens and sold the aluminum to
pay the biils. that is probably more than you wanted to know.

unfortunately all airplanes must be flyABLE OR IN A HAngar as they can do a lot
of damage during a hurricane. one of the joys of living in south florida. As
hurricane season is close and the plane was not flyable, its future was sealed.

for your files a coUPLE OF NOTES. I FINALLY SOLD n628AH after 25 years. it broke
my heart, but parkinson disease keeps me grounded. i do not have the legal
name of the buyer, but i will let you know as soon as i hear.

you will be getting get a note from the FAA that N6289B is no longer registered.
Jim Schiller AND i HaVE BEEN WORKING ON IT fOR SEVEN YEARS and it is not the
time to sell.. it is in incredible shaPE, new everything paint, interior, three
bladed props, instrument panel, the ONly thing missing are the engines which
are being overhAULed. the price is not for the faint of heart, but it is very
      low time and almost perfect.

we still have about ten oR Twelve commanders at lantana, almost all of them maintained
by Jim Schiller. he is ALMOST aLWAYs LOOKING for commander work and he
is one of the best in the countRY. HE CAN COME TO YOUR FiELD, WORK on your
plane and have it in great shape in a short period of time. his number is 561-262-8155.
he does not know about this endorsement NS DID NOT SEEk it. no good
      deed goes unpunished.
