It looks like New Mexico is cutting way back on its fleet. Does anyone know
about their Turbo Commander? Sir Barry?

Stan

Hi Stan,
The State of New Mexico have a 690C, s/n 11730 N835CC and as the news item
states, it is a 1983 example and has been owned since new.
Could be a nice one if it comes onto the market?
Best Regards,
Barry

The 840 (690C) is a nice plane and the state uses it a lot along with the older
KingAir.
The Vulcanair is new in 2009 that the state bought. it replaced an older 180 or
185 that they use to track animals and count wild life.
I have seen both at airports around the state.
The state also rents aircraft from several of the FBO's around the state.
New Mexico is a big state with lots of not much in between.
I have a project installing an AVGAS tank in Clayton, NM that is 295 miles from
Albuquerque one way.
Not sure what they are going to do by selling two aircraft.

I wonder if NM would like to trade that 840 straight across for a well-loved
500B? They'd maintain the ability to fly, and the downsizing should play
well with the constituency.

PS: Because that's pretty much the only way I'll make the leap to kerosene,
unless this economy really picks up some speed.
