None of the bearings that are available have the correct I.D. to O.D. It i
s impossible to machine the shaft to reduce the bearing I.D. requirement an
d the housing is not thick enough to machine the housing by 2mm (approx. .0
80) to accomidate any bearing that is available. Also=2C Vickers used a be
aring which is narrower than usual.

st have a DER or a DAR sign it off as field mod? Seems like an awful lot of
money to replace a whole unit just because the bearing can't be found...

Thanks=2C however=2C I was there last year and the only thing salvagable wa
s the two doors above the oil filler caps. The plane is part of the old Ja
ck Chapal fleet. I paid Kristy Stell (Jack's Daughter) for them and wound
up selling one to Randy Detmire. I assume that you are speaking of the unp
ainted plane on the southwest end of the airport. If not please tell me mo
re. Thanks again.
Regards.

Moe, then we're talking about the same one. Too bad they let it go that far. Just
for your info, there are two FP's for sale at Trade-A-Plane at the moment.
Might be worth asking the sellers if they have a spare...
