Andy,
Thank you for sharing such a poignant piece of history, I have indeed read all
your posts and would gladly read more. Have you considered writing the full story
on a short book, booklet or blog? I see you have one, but I saw bits and pieces
but not an entire story put together.
For example I still can't figure out if the hijacker survived or not (it seems
that on one of the TV news they were saying he had survived; but you also mentioned
he shot himself).
Anyways, my point is that may be the story could start taking off on its own as
a book, best seller of sort and then it could be further developed as a documentary.
Sorry for your terrible loss and best regards to your family and you have our support
in any ways we can.
If in your research or travel you have to stay close to SFO, let us know, we will
gladly take care of you in Santa Cruz (only 1 hr south).
As far as 681 pictures you have to query "Aero Commander" or "Twin Commander" or
"Aerocommander" "Rockwell Commander" several picture sites and pick up the 680V,
681, Turbo Commander, 690. I would look in:
For ex at www.airliners.net:

Tom & the Commander Group,
I appreciate the time you took in checking out the link http://igg.me/at/58November/x/1678943 (http://igg.me/at/58November/x/1678943) . I do understand your concerns on ads. You all do have my word that will not happen again.
I do hope you will all look at the site and help us make the 58 November
project a reality. No one person can make anything happen in life. This is
no different. As they said in the movie The Right Stuff, "No Bucks, No Buck
Rogers"
This is a YouTube video of my father trying to negotiate with the FBI agents
in Jacksonville just before their raid was executed. These are the actual
ATC tapes and some of my father's last known words.
You will see a picture of my father's 681 Turbo Commander on the screen

If any of you know where a 681 Turbo Commander is located these days I would
love to contact the owner. My father's Commander (N-9058N) is now in the
Broward County Community College being used as a maintenance plane for future
A&P's
If any of you can help please contact me. I do appreciate your concerns and
your support
Thanks,
Andy Downs
