Subject: | New member looking for cabin door latch |
Hello all,
I've just recently bought a 500A (N78379) and have gone back and read,
during my pre-purchase research, many of the posts Bill Bow made during his
ownership of this aircraft. I've enjoyed reading them and already feel a
part of this group even though this is my first time to ask a question. I'm
having a few things fixed and one squawk is no way to lock the cabin. There
are no guts to the door hardware and it looks like I need a complete latch
assembly. Would anyone have an idea where I might find one?

I recently bought a 685 and just had the local locksmith put the "coke mach
ine" type security locks on all the doors - works a treat

That's what Valair was trying to do when the locksmith told them there isn't
enough there to do that with. It seems we need enough to start with to
re-key with the coke machine type, but that is our goal.

If you are missing the mechanism then I know Atlanta Salavge has about 6 Co
