Adam=2C Glad she sold. She will be happy as a freighter=2C just ask John Towner... .. He turned out to be a ti re kicker with no money and we're still chasing him for the escrow fee's. N ext time around it sold for a little more actually (seems like the twin mar ket has at least turned a corner). Although they haven't paid all of it yet =2C at least more than half has arrived. This time it sold to some US based Russian who will fly it via Alaska to Siberia come next summer!! Poor old girl is pressed into service as a load hauler at her age - I'd hoped she'd get to relax a little in the twilight of her years=2C but no. Then again=2C planes should be flown. Just before sales concluded=2C the right hand fuel pump started leaking. Being the guy I am=2C I couldn't in good conscience sell her off in that state=2C so I sent it in for overhaul. Was an expensiv e little thing=2C but now it's done. > > I've flown the old girl about 30 mins every week just to keep her juices going=2C and everything works perfectly. It's very different than flying th e Aerostar of course=2C but what a great little aircraft she is now as I co me back to her. The other day I had a 27kts wind on the nose at takeoff=2C almost no gas and the damn thing almost flew straight up like a bat out of hell! Couldn't believe it. I was at 1000ft by the end of the rwy. > > I wish I could keep them both and just have her as my Sunday ride=2C but I just can't afford it. At least now I get to fly her once in awhile until they pay and pick her up=2C which I'm grateful for. Be a sad day when she f lies of to Russia. > > -------- > Adam > > > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=412131#412131 > > > > > > > =========== =========== =========== =========== > > > ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 11:23:18 AM PST US From: Moe Mills Subject: Commander-List: TCFG ARTICLE Commander Folks=2C There is a good article about our get together in Chattanooga this year=2C in the current issue (Fall 2013) of Flight Levels Magazine. Thanks for the tip, I forgot about Flight Line, I used to get the paper version Wow seems like you guys had a full schedule! Had not even heard about Gadberry's 500U accident I'm glad he was able to get out of that one. I'm thrilled that the http://www.twincommander.com group is keeping the piston group in mind and still trying to improve the relationship between pistons vs turbo props. Great pictures! Sooo was there a specific call on just "eye browed" birds here? Thank God there was at least a round nacelle bird! Scott check it out, there is a great picture in there by the way, where was 680RR? no triple2 either? that cannot be a normal TCFG! I assume the "Texan" colored 500S is the latest millennium upgrade? who's the red and blue 500A/B in there? (I recognize both Bob's Shrikes). I'm glad you all were able to attend, I was unfortunately tied to my new job traveling and I'm already anxious for the next TCFG. For those who have never attend it, read the article! it shows a bit the knowledge you can gain from the scheduled talks out of these meetings, but you won't get all the laughters and incredible stories you hear from this wonderful group of people. Miss you all & hopefully see you next time! p. -------- 560 Dreamer Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=412149#412149 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 06:39:50 PM PST US From: Moe Mills Subject: RE: Commander-List: Re: TCFG ARTICLE Peter=2C Good to hear from you! Not to be a wise guy but the name of the publicatio n is Flight Levels=2C not Flight Line. The weather was so bad in the New Mexico=2C Arizona area that I just couldn 't get off on Tuesday=2C Wednesday=2C or Thursday and FSS said that there w as a possibility of clearing by Saturday. No one flew in from the west coas t. I decided to drive straight through. Hope to see you next year.....
