I am installing a freshly overhauled O200 in my Kitfox. It currently has the old
4000 magnetos. I am not sure of their reliability, therefore I plan to change
them out. Does anyone have any opinions on the merits of switching to an electronic
ignition system vs. magneto technology? Thanks in advance.

I have an O-200 in my 601XL that I am building. After putting new gaskets on the
accessory case I tried to start it and the timing is off. It fired early and
sent the prop back a little. Long story short, the starter drive gear is now
jammed. Any idea what this will cost to fix, does a drive gear assembly come
with a rebuilt starter? Also would it be better to go with a new light weight
starter that eliminates the drive gear assembly?
Thanks
Glenn
