It currently has the old 4000 magnetos. I am not sure of their reliability, therefore I plan to change them out. Does anyone have any opinions on the merits of switching to an electronic ignition system vs. magneto technology? Thanks in advance. After putting new gaskets on the accessory case I tried to start it and the timing is off. It fired early and sent the prop back a little. Long story short, the starter drive gear is now jammed. Any idea what this will cost to fix, does a drive gear assembly come with a rebuilt starter? Also would it be better to go with a new light weight starter that eliminates the drive gear assembly?
