Hi Dave,
Well our crank was bad and we are buying a new one. Couldn't find a yellow
tagged crank for a good price so we sprang for a new one. There's a big
hole in my checkbook right now.
Our case had a crack and is being prepared by a company in Tulsa. The cam
is being ground and I'm waiting to hear about it. It looks like we will be
able to rebuild the engine with new rings, bearings and gaskets, plus
overhaul the Marvel carburetor. The mags appear to be good. Probably put
in new wire harness.
We are going to SNF next week and hopefully pick up a few deals. Looking
for a prop, instruments, radio, etc.
When it's all over I will have about 9K in this engine which I bought from
Wentworth for 4k. But, we should be in good shape barring any gotchas!
