I recently bought a core from a '64 to begin my engine installation. I
was assured that the crank was an 8409, and I bought it even though the
serial number on the case was T0913YR. "YR" was not represented in the
Conversion Manual, but I bought it anyway. Now that I've started the
teardown, I don't find 8409 on the crank. I find "X81A", "7293" and
"GMT" but not 8409.
Did I just waste $200?
