It looked like a neat little spring. So now after reading William Wynne's articles on thread patterns of the studs, I'm trying to discover the best way to tap the case to accept either the original stud or one that has a more universal thread pattern. Note that the case now has no threads shown and looks like a clean reamed out hole.
