I'm not a purist but there are guys that would "mark down" your car if ALL the numbers didn't match. Did you change the gears or swap out the rear end "pumpkin ball". We used to change out "pumpkins" in about an hour at the slalom track of the day. If you don't have the original pumpkin can you get it back. The cars code will tell everyone the color, HP, engine, ratio, tranny etc etc. All of these things can mean money at sale time. Me ?, I loved all 7 of the 'vettes I had but not one was "completely" stock with matching numbers when I sold them. 3 were new and I still got more of each 7 of them than I paid for them when I sold them.
