As you probably know these extra ratios are selected by pushing the button in the middle of the shifter. These boxes aren't the best but I never had any trouble with my "86" that I bought new. Same on the digital.....Mine never gave me a problem but they had some bad boards early on. If the dash is still working on the "85" you probably got a good one and I wouldn't be to concerned. Tires for these cars are expensive! Rotation is a hassle but due to the soft rubber compounds needed to bite the road they don't last but about 25,000 miles anyway......rotated or not. Tom in Ohio (66 Roadster) P.S. These cars are a very good buy (C-4's) plus being I nice safe, dependable driver for the daughter) ----- Original Message ----- From: "JOHN STARN" Subject: Re: Corvette-List: smog and stuff > --> Corvette-List message posted by: "JOHN STARN" > > The love of Corvette seems to run in the Starn blood.
