I wish there was more activity here because I'm comfortable with the way the Matronics lists work (Matt does a great job making it happen). The RV lists on Matronics are extremely popular. There is more cub/old piper activity on the Yahoo list: piper-cub-builders@yahoogroups.com . It's kind of a pain to sign up, but there are some good discussions and helpful contributors there. Where are you based Phil? Bill, I've always been fascinated by clip-wings. I flew in a 100 HP one in California years ago & just loved it. Where is yours based and how do you like having partner's in on it? Do you have any advise to someone looking to start a partnership on a low & slow airplane? Thanks, Rick Hampshire, IL '46 J-3 on EDO 1400's ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Davis" Subject: Re: Cub-List: new to list > --> Cub-List message posted by: "William Davis" > > Hey Phil, > > I signed up for this list more than a month ago and yours is the first > message I have seen There really is life out there. > > I (and partners) own a 39 clip wing J-3. > > Bill Davis > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Phil Phillips" > To: > Subject: Cub-List: new to list > > > > --> Cub-List message posted by: "Phil Phillips" > > > > I am a new member to this list. I am in Kalama, Wa. which is about 30 miles North of Portland Oregon. I have had J-5s for about 20 years. I have neaver flown any theing that is more fun to fly. It is ideal for this country. I agree about other list. I have been on the Pietenpol list and the average day is 20 to 25 messages. It's got thee-75 but it's a lot of fun and we love it. It may be the only Cub around with brand new expander tube brakes. We were lucky enough to stumble on to a new set when one of the expander tubes blew. Two of us partners have other airplanes (RV's), the third (Rebecca) just flies the Cub. We are all very compatible, it works out fine. I do think that any more than 3 would get cumbersome.
