Thanks Larry,
I was able to get some PVC pipe and insulation today and made one. Seems to work
fine.

The one that I have is 41 inches overall length. It only needs to be
long enough to come down about half of the rudder and keep the
elevator and rudder from slapping around when folded.

for making one that uses the pipe insulation on the pipes? I see on
the I could measure it all but was wondering if someone had the dimensions handy.

Subject: Kolb-List: a few issues: wing gap seal velcro doesn't want to stick well
and aileron u-joint seems sloppy

Two quick items I'm dealing with as I finish a new build:
I painted my plane with glossy paint. I put my velcro on the wings for the gap
seal but it doesn't seem to stick very well. I tried a sample of contact cement
but that didn't seem to do well either as it seems the glossy paint doesn't
have "teeth" to grab into. Any ideas how to deal with that other than making the
lexan hard gap seal or sanding down the paint?

My ailerons seem to have a lot of slop. Upon investigation the u-joint has slop
(not from the bolt holes but the u-joint itself) and the upper control rod ends
seem to have some slop too. Is this common with Kolb Firestars? Is this going
to cause a flutter problem? I do have the ailerons counterweighted and balanced
but I've never flown nor worked on an any plane with slop like this. It surprised
me being a new build and does make me wonder if this is going to create
any issues when I get to test fly.

Thanks,
Jay
