Hi all=2C

I have this question about the fuel flow needed for the M-14P 360HP engine.

What should be the free fuel flow value needed at the engine connection. (
Fuel Pump Inlet )

What is the maximum fuel consumption of the M-14P engine at take off power.

Thanks
Sylvain April

I have a friend with an M462 engine available for around $10K or best offer.
It is a 1991 overhaul and still in the original packing form the overhaul.
Includes accessories.

A M462 is 320 hp upgraded version of the AI14 engine. It has a
splined propeller shaft.

You can use AN-6 or -8 hose and fittings.

Is fuel consumption linear? I ask because I have a 400HP M14PF ... have not ever
seen a chart for that engine ...

The 400 HP is developed above 880 MM manifold pressure (35") which you
typically only see on takeoff (approx. 1000 mm or 40"). The fuel flow
at the higher manifold pressure will of course increase by about 2-3
gallons per hour. However as soon as you back off after takeoff, fuel
consumption will be as shown on the 360 hp chart.

This will get you within a few gallons per hour for your fuel burn. On t
he Radial you can figure about .43 BSFC.

400 HP = somewhere around 28 gallons per hour

According to the M14P 360HP manuals, at WOT the 360 HP M14 consumes
between 37 and 41 GPH. The 400 HP M14 will consume between 43-44 GPH at
WOT. I have also proven these numbers to be accurate for the 360HP
engine using a fuel flow instrument.
