I can't find my metal gauge but if you measure from gap side to gap side
this should be close.  In other words the distance across the electrodes at
right angles to the gap when correctly gapped should be more than side to
side.

Jeff,
Champion plugs have loads of the gages they hand out freely.
Believe I have about a dozen laying around here.
(if I can remember where they are)
