Subject: O-720 Blocks (First Time Post)
--> Engines-List message posted by: terence.gannon@telus.net Folks -- I am posting for the first time to this list (having been using RV- List for years, though) and hope that there may be somebody out there who may be able to help. I have an opportunity to purchase the contents of a garage full of aircraft parts, many of which are likely throw away items. However, the real prizes appear to be two, and possibly three O-720 blocks. These are apparently complete, albeit they have been stored for a long time, and likely were NOT pickled. Obviously, I don't need more than one (I'm not sure I even need that -- what I'm REALLY looking for is an O-360 for my RV!) so I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts as to how to go about determining some sort of value for these, and whether it would be best to overhaul them first, then resell, or simply find a buyer for them as is. Any thoughts that anybody has in this regard would be much appreciated. And if this question has been asked-and-answered recently, my apologies, and please point me in the direction of the archive. Regards... Terry in Calgary RV-6 S/N 24414 "Wings"

--> Engines-List message posted by: "Konrad Werner" <Connywerner@wans.net> Dear Terry, Why don't you contact the manufacturer's of the " S H E R P A " -Line of Bush Planes. (see their ads in Kitplanes/ Sport Aviation, etc.) They started out with the O-720 in their original version, but now they also offer Turbo-Prop(ulsion). They "MAY" have a need or at least another lead for the 400hp 8cyl's?? Good Luck in your quest! Sell the O-720 cases at least 1 week apart, or ask the winning bidder if he would like more than one case, with each additional case at the same price as the first. The category will be eBay motors > Parts and Accessories > Aviation > Engines Good luck, Linc
