You ought to take a look at lightspeed Engineering's electronic ignitions
(Klaus Savier) and Ellison Fluid Systems trottle body injectors (TBIs),
really just a carburator. They aren't as sophistocated as integrated auto
systems but particularly the Lightspeed is worlds better than standard
mags.
You can really lean that engine out with Klaus' ignition. I'm running
both.

Ellison prohibits the use of auto fuel with their unit...something about
seal breakdown...you would think that they could adapt the seals to resist
fuel additives...go figure...
Anyone have success running the Ellison with auto fuel?

BTW, the 912S compression ratio is 10.5:1. Mine runs fine on 96 octane
mogas with no detonation or vapour lock problems but I do have heat
protection on all under-cowl fuel lines
<end snip>
The above came from Down Under. In the USA, I usually see only 87, 89, and
91 octane. Are we measuring octane on the same scale, and does 100LL have
an auto fuel equivalent?
