Subject: | Continental C85 CHTs and EGT temperatures |
--> Engines-List message posted by: "Trampas" <tstern@nc.rr.com>
I have a friend who has a C85 engine in a CH601, he is monitoring the CHTs
and EGT temperatures on the engine and is wondering what is should be normal
operating range.
Specifically what he is seeing is that cylinder #2 CHT is about 436 degrees
peak, during cruise it is running 400-420 degrees. The next hottest cylinder
is number 4 which peak is 392 and cruise is 340-360 degrees. Cylinder #1 and
#3 both peak around 390 and cruise at 305-320 degrees.
Is this normal for this engine or should he worry about it?
I have all the data in an Excel file sampled at about 10 times a second, so
if anyone wants further detail send me a private email and I can send you a
copy of the data.
Thanks
