I don't know Atkins. However, I have investigated the rotary for my RV-7A, and
I've concluded that the Renesis engine with side porting and redesigned side
seals is the way to if installing a rotary in my aircraft. Powersports redrive
looks good because the engine is 2.5" lower (that's from memory, check for yourself).
Tracy Crook's Real World Solutions 2.85 redrive looks good because
it's half the price and 223 HP out of a stock renesis at prop speed of 2700 (verses
180 HP from the Powersport redrive). I think Real World Solutions may have
more redrives in flying planes.
