It came out of a C210. The intercooler Cessna used will not fit in my cowl so I will need to set up another one. I know the engine's air flow is about 410 CFM at 2700 RPM. Now how to decide what size intercooler to get. I can get anywhere from 1.5 to 6 inches thick, and many sizes in width and length. Is there a general rule of thumb for what is best, thick or thin, I'm talking about the dimension the ambient air will flow through. Also there are basically two flight configurations where the intercooler is really needed. Climb and cruise. I assume you size for climb as this is the worst case as far as reduced speed and possibly high power output. Of course high altitude as in 20,000+ also is tough as the air is so thin you have problems staying cool. My speed range will be 90-100knt Vx-Vy, 120-140 knots cruise climb, with an expected 220+ knot cruise. Scott "Those who sacrifice freedom to get security, deserve neither." - Benjamin Franklin
