--> Engines-List message posted by: "Rex & Jan Shaw" <rexjan@bigpond.com> I am not familiar with the rotax 912 but we just cured a similar problem that had plagued us since new on a Jabiru 2200. It was an air leak in the intake system. Suggest you pull it apart and carefully reassemble with appropriate sealants. There is a site you can join free online for Rotax owners. Sorry can't find the URL but just type rotaxowners as one word into your preffered search engine and you should get it. If you can't contact me at rexjan@bigpond.com and I'll find it for you. GoodluckRex. PS hope you get this I've never responded to a Matronics list before. rexjan@bigpond.com

--> Engines-List message posted by: "Archie" <archie97@earthlink.net> A simple trick to locate induction leaks is to spray starting fluid on suspected areas with the engine running. (without the prop, of course) If a leak is detected, an immediate, and short, RPM increase will be realized. Archie Archie's Racing Service

I'm no expert but did try a Google search using lycoming O-320-G4 It comes up with something--unofficial--indicating it is a 150 hp ground power unit... I don't know about the O320 gpu but as I recall some of the older gpu's had single ignition and a lighter weight or non-standard (compared to the aircraft engine) flange on the crank... one of the Tony Bingelis books has info on workarounds for the flange thing, I believe. --> Engines-List message posted by: "kyle Ponsford" <wild_kyle@hotmail.com> Lowell, no I don't have a ruff engine, been through the plug wires but have not replaced them, they appear quite sound, with good spark, no bleeding. maybe I should just install new ones but at this point I have started to be more selective of what I replace as I have spent GOBS doing just that. carbs, hose, fuel lines, pump, etc.... thanks for the note. --> Engines-List message posted by: "kyle Ponsford" <wild_kyle@hotmail.com> Leo, Now that sounds like a very scarry fix! the whole white plug thing is because it is too hot. changing the plug seems like taking the battery out the screeming smoke alarm because the fire is getting too big! a hot cylinder is calling for a melt down the way I see it. maybe I'm wrong. I will keep you posted as I find out. thanks, Kyle >From: "Leo J.
