--> Engines-List message posted by: "Scott Derrick" <scott@tnstaafl.net> I have found out that the unplug/plug mod as used on the smaller lycs is not all that is needed. The 520 and some of the other bigbig bore ingines use a floating collar on the crankshaft to provide oil to the prop. This must be supplied with oil or the crankshaft will fail. A passage must be provided from the gov supply to the prop supply. This is done by machining a groove in the gov access plate that replaces the gov. Subject: 0320-E2D Cylinder Nuts
--> Engines-List message posted by: "Randy" <rer51@lincsat.com> I am pulling the cylinders off and have come upon 2 - 3/4" nuts at the lower rear of cylinders 3 & 4 that I have not been able to access. I have tried sockets, swivel sockets, open-end and box-end wrenchs, but still cannot get squarely on the nuts. Is there a special tool out there for this, or am I just overlooking something. Randy

--> Engines-List message posted by: "James R. Cunningham" <jrccea@bellsouth.net> Purchase two cylinder head wrenches, one in 3/4" and the other in 9/16". If you do any work on small Contnentals, you should also get one in 1/2". You can get them from Aircraft Spruce, Wag-Aero, etc. JimC Randy wrote: > --> Engines-List message posted by: "Randy" <rer51@lincsat.com> > > I am pulling the cylinders off and have come upon 2 - 3/4" nuts at the lower rear of cylinders 3 & 4 that I have not been able to access.
