I'm experienceing the same thing on new millenium cylinders (but in a
pusher (Cozy)). #4 CHT spikes right after takeoff. Part of the problem in
my installtion is to tinker with the airflow to #4 but I think some of it
will resolve with more break-in time. I have 10 hours on it now.

I have the JPI on another airplane and it seems to be accurate. Very likely
it's just the new cylinders running hotter. Could also be the way your
thermocouples are wired to the gauge. Using regular wire vs. thermocouple
wire will alter the voltage into the guage.
