--> Engines-List message posted by: TBelvin38@aol.com Caution! I had a factory hose on that same engine collapse and internal pressure blew out the prop seal causing oil all over the windscreen, landing that thing was fun! The damage was internal and not visible to external inspection Tom Belvin

So far I haven't been able to tell the difference. i think mil spec wire insulation is tefzel vs PVC (non-hazardous fumes when melting) and it also has many more strands which makes it more flexible and less likely to break. gary

--> Engines-List message posted by: "Hinde, Frank George (Corvallis)" <frank.hinde@hp.com> Take an old car battery and short a 3ft length of wire between the terminals in the open air...The insulation will immediately melt and ignite and the tick black fumes are highly toxic. There is a real chance you will pass out before you can land the plane. I had a behind the dash panel fire in my old MG at night once...Believe me its horrifying!....Don't do it!
