--> Engines-List message posted by: Fiveonepw@aol.com I have an O-320 (E3D) with 1000 hours since new with new rings and bearings intalled at about 850 hours. With my prop, I can easily run 2800 rpms at lower altitudes and 2700 at 8000'. I know the redline is 2700, but curious how detrimental to run this engine at the higher speeds for a couple of hours, assuming fresh oil and general state of tune per specifications? Running dual Slick mags on stock engine. I know a higher prop pitch would be an option, but don't want to sacrifice present climb rate. Thanks- Mark - RV-6A do not archive

At some point TBO shrinks to zero of course. 2800 is not that bad. I'd keep it rather than give up ROC. Tracy (running 5600 at cruise.
