    Subject: Induction leak
Anyone got a simple way to find out if there is an induction leak? Havin g problems with getting the engine to idle below 1,000 and it was suggested that this may be a possible cause. Also have to look at timing. Can I use a 12 volt bulb from the P lead to the positive lead on the battery to check the Slick mag? Bob, Wichita

What I do when assembling an engine, is to initially leave the intake rockers off. I made small phenolic plates to cover the carb/injector opening, and apply a couple of pounds of air pressure through a fitting incorporated in the plate. Any induction leaks will be immediately evident by using a soapy solution such as dishwashing liquid.
