Subject: | Carburator to manifolt nuts on Lycoming |
Well, studs and nuts actually. While taking the carb off my Lycoming
0-360 A1A, my mechanic commented on why the factory used a coarse thread stud,
and a nut without safety wire, over a flat washer and star washer.
He thought a MS rated metal self locking nut over a flat washer seemed more
appropriate.
Can I legally do that on a certificated aircraft? Thanks, Skip
