Karkel:
I look forward to the flight tests! It sounds like you have the better part
of a year to wait,
though. Whatever, this is progress - a design coming with PFA approval is a
very good thing.
I have to say that one of the things that attracted me to the Europa in the
first place
was the rather rigorous approval process required in the UK by the PFA to
get a
homebuilt design flying. As opposed to the rather "buyer-beware,
laissiez-faire" attitude
in the states, it's my impression that a PFA-approved design will at least
have been
conservatively designed and reviewed by several pairs of knowledgeable eyes.
I still haven't seen an American kitplane vendor ( outside of Van's ) that
openly displays
recovery from a 12-turn fully developed spin on their promotional videos.
Maybe that
was just Ivan's design directive, but I like to think the PFA has something
to do with it...

AFAIK, all the Matronics lists work the original, logical, way
they've always worked, ie reply-to-list is the default. (Beauty is in
the eye of the beholder.) If you want to change that state of
affairs, you'll have to convince Matt Dralle of the merits of your
case. Talk to him direct, not on the list - he's a reasonable man.

I've just finished attaching the balance weights to the aileron and was about
to attach it to the wing when I noticed that the aileron is too long. I just
figured that I should trim the wing tip end but figured I'd ask just to be
sure. Since it's too late to do it tonight. I would have the answer by
morning.
Same thing on the flap?

Call John Hurst - he will make it good. You should have all the parts
required in the kit. The only other thing would be to go to Aircraft Spruce.
Good deal on the cockpit.
I have 6.4 hours now - flying again tomorrow morning. See the attached. It is
from last flight at 17,500. Everything is going well still. The 914 engine is
fantastic in this airplane. The climb rate will knock your socks off!

Don't forget that your 19th is our 18th so they had an extra day to get
it to you :-)

If you are missing a part why not just ask Europa to supply the missing
bit rather than hunt around for an equivalent? Upon receipt of the kit
it is normal practise to check the manifest and advise Europa of any
shortages. They are more than happy to supply any bits that may have
been inadvertently short shipped - after all, you've already paid for
the parts.
