Folks,
I know ive mentioned the weather station before but we have now added a web
cam to it as well. So as well as getting the factual detailed data you can
also look and see how bright it is and get an idea of the general vis and
cloud base.

David,
I originally sent it out and you are about the 4th person to have it I
think. I lost track a bit. I'm not sure if Karim has seen it yet. Shout up
Karim let us know.
If he has unless anyone else wants it your free to keep it if you wish and
save postage.
Best wishes on a rainy day when I was hoping to go flying.

Details of weather station.
www.eastyorkshire.co.uk/eddsfield/wxdata/eddsfield.htm to view the live data
and webcam for the field. We are going to add a webcam on the airstrip too.
see the unit a oregon weather station at http://www.ambientweather.com The
weather station is on sale here in the UK for 499 from Transair, but I
also saw they had a cheaper one that appears to do the same

You can use loads of different software from various suppliers but we went

Hope that helps

Hi Kevin,
Responding to a message in the europa forum.
Looks great this weather station. I am very interested in setting up a
similar thing here, that is Ukonjrvi, Ivalo, Finland. I am thinking of
setting up a strip on the ice on the lake, could be open about 4-5
months a year. Could you tell me a bit more about the soft- and
hardware you are using here? Costs, supplier ect?
Greetings,

hi guys
I have found that the cut-out for the mass balance boxes XW52 will not line up
with the lead weights on the ailerons if I stick to europa`s measurements,
if I move the balance weight a additional 20 mm from the outboard hinge it would
fit, so the question is do I move the balance weight to the right 20mm or the
balance box the same distance to the left,
Is it critical to have the aileron weights exactly 20 mm from the hinges?

Move the counterbalance weight 20mm as counterbalance location is not
going to be that critical. If you haven't glued the balance boxes in
place yet you can always split the distance.
Mine are 50mm off location inboard as some dumb builder I know marked
his ruler at the wrong location and then transferred the marks to both
ailerons.

I have finally given up waiting for the finger brakes and am currently
installing the toe brakes on my tri gear, with a view to converting to the
finger brakes once they are sorted from the factory. Can anyone help with
the routing of the piping? It looks from the manual as if I should take it
down the starboard side and across the front of the seats. But is that along
the floor, just above the top of the tufnol bearing or just under the top of
the thigh support? Or somewhere else completely?
Cheers.

Moving the balance box would be difficult because it needs to sit in that
area of no foam in the skin sandwich construction. BTW, when comes time to
bond the top skin on, Cut the tops off of the balance boxes. Then after cure
do a layup inside of the boxes to connect them with the top skin. This makes
sure you get the max clearance possible for the lead weights in aileron down
travel. Neville told me that one.

I would add an extra tip.
Carve about half an inch off the forward/top radius of the lead before you
bond it to the aileron. There is way too much weight in the lead, (I ended
up drilling three x 1/2 inch holes through to balance mine. If you take
this top/ forward edge off first, it reduces the amount you need to drill
out later and also reduces the chance of it hitting the top of the box or
wing at full deflection. Once again a tip that Neville gave to me.

Hi! Richard.
I wouldn't be without my toe brakes.
The pipes route up and to the port side where there is a hand brake valve
near the naca cold air vent. Then they travel under the port side door sill
to the front of the baggage bay . The Port brake goes out down the main gear
leg whilst the Starboard one travels across the rear tank bulkhead down the
starboard side main gear leg. I have installed unions and adapters where
they pass through the fusilage floor. Then if a pipe fails all you have to
change is the length of the leg.

I am thinking of routing my brake lines up and to the right, then aft
going through the center console just below and forward of the
instrument panel, then aft to the gears.
That way they are more out of harm's way, I think....anybody been there,
thought about that?

The less up and down the easier to bleed your brakes.

Hi! Guys.
I posted this message on trike pipe routing direct to Richard Iddon but I
guess it may help to put it on the forum......especially since I ommitted to
advise him of the "brake bleeding" method.(Heads up Richard!)
I put my bleed nipples on the bottom of each slave brake cylinders then
fitted a Europa supplied screw funnel to each master cylinder in turn and
used a "squeezy bottle" attached to the "bleed" nipple and bled the system
from the BOTTOM UP and BACK to the master cylinder. When air bubbles stop
emmitting from the funnel use a syringe (without a needle) which when placed
into the bottom of the funnel will extract just the right ammount of oil for
the stop to be replaced.
I should warn those of thinking about central tunnel routes to think about
where your hand brake valve will be sited and watch out for tight radius
bends. The Manual has it right for the master cylinder exit directions.

Hi! Richard.
It came from the US of A, but sorry I can't remember the vendor(I think
Matco?) or the part number but Neville Eyre at the Europa Factory will
advise you, may even sell you one since the trike is now regular supply!
Mine works very well and holds pressure certainly overnight and probably
much longer but haven't tried it longer because always tied down! See
further message just posted about bleeding.
