The shroud is mandatory in the UK on the "s".
I would have thought that its impact would be on cylinder wall temperature
rather than cyl. head.
I have one installed but still see upto174 C on cyl. wall temp (max
allowable is 190 C).
I'm about to experiment with some deflector plates on the underside of the
clylinders in an attempt ot reduce the temperatures; otherwise the air from
hte shroud misses the underside of hte cylinders.
Not wholly convinced that the Europa 'snout' is that efficient.
Duncan McF.
PS price of hte shroud in the UK is 180. The 's' comes with them as
standard, but the agent takes them off and sells them back as an option at
180!!

Hi all"
I am new and am thinking of buying a Europa XS in the future. I wanted to ask
quite a few questions as I sure all of you had done before buying. I wanted
to know if there is a Europa Forum where I could look at question that were already
asked so I can view them. Also I wanted to look at some if any problems
that Europa owners have run into while building the aircraft and after. I have
so many questions as this will be my first kit.
Well thanks for your time and help

Allan,
You are looking at the right aircraft for a first time builder. The support
you can access via phone, fax, or forum will get you through any encountered
problems.
There is a big thread listing at:
<A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/asarangan/europa_forum.html">http://www.geocities.com/asarangan/europa_forum.html
With the search function you can get info on any keyword in any thread.
But until you have a specific problem, all you can do is scan for anything
interesting.
You could also go to fellow builder's websites. They have documented many of
the situations they have encountered during their builds. Many have pix to
help you understand the different aspects of their builds. Just ask the forum
and many will give you direct address to their websites.
Good luck.
