I'd guess they are counting the two screws that go into the forward face of
each footwell through the angle brackets, in addition to the single screw
directly through the duct into the inside face of the footwell.

>>> Many Thanks for your observations. I have the action a little better
balanced now and did in fact remove the 3 Small Weight 'Discs' in Kit
and
replace them with Lead versions. It increased the overall weight by
about
300 grams so total weight on Balance Arm is 3250 grams.
Did you note the "contact the factory if you have to increase the
weight" sentence in the manual?

...our only rotax dealer, Nigel Beale ( sky drive) i believe has designed and
tested a mechanicle dump valve for the 914. Don't know whether he is already
selling kits for it.

Yeap. Spoke to Andy. He gave me various things to check and overviewed the
effects and why weight was critical. I'm talking to him again tomorrow just
to revisit the outcome.
I've only one set of Tail Plane weights returned from another Europa Builder
to judge the weight of my completed Tail Planes. Any chance you can weigh
yours?
Kind Regards
Gerry

Steve, I confirm Dave DeFord's view: Two bolts through the front face and
one through the fore & aft face of the footwell each side gives a nice solid
fixing which has shown no sign of moving in 150 hrs flying. David Joyce 402.

Does anyone have data on what the actual fuel flow going to and returning a 914
is? Trying to get the proper sensors the first time!
Thanks for all the input on the wing root fairings. We ended up slitting the fairings
as suggested by Paul McAllister & some judicious heating & 2x4 action.
They look pretty good now.

I'll do it tonight and get back to you.
I'm having to do remedial work on my starboard tailplane as the TP5
disbonded from the foam the first time it was moved on the trailer. The
resin held to the metal OK so my golf balling technique worked! Luckily
another local builder has yet to put his torque tube into his aircraft
and is lending it to me so I can do the repair on the bench.
One step forward... Two steps back!
