Mike,
Seems you have the same dilemma as I did. Indeed, it doesn't work out as
per the manual if you have the same drawing in your manual as I.
I am fairly sure you will have to pack out the pulley from the tunnel wall
and this should leave enough room for the head of the bolt for the seat belt
but I suggest it might be a good idea to confirm this with Nev at Europa.

I did two, as per the manual in my case.

Some years ago, it was reported that motorbike riders in the states had started
modifying their headlights so they had a strobe-effect, increasing their visibility,
I believe it died down again due to zealous law enforcement officers
putting a stop to the practice, can anybody comment as to the efficiency of the
mod?

Talking of retractable light and amperage, has anybody ever seen air driven generators
that could fill the role of standby generator?
It should be relatively simple to do a pop-out unit that could supply you with
essential power...

Hi! Mike.
If I recall correctly the holes were close necessitating the harness bolt
fitted prior to the pully being fitted necessitating the pulley being
"jacked" off to clear the harness bolt head with washers.
On the question of inspection holes it calls for one on each tank outlet but
IMHO they would be better sized about an inch bigger in diameter (not to
forget that the rudder cables need to clear the anchor nuts and you mustn't
interfere with the bulkhead either)

Good day All,
Just finished with installing the fuel selector valve in the cockpit module.
With it still upside down I went to drill the holes for the AN210-2A pulley
and the seatbelt anchor. I marked out the placement of the holes using the
measurements in the manual but they didn't look like the manual picture. The
pulley
hole is 1.25" from the rear vertical bulkhead and 1.5" down from the
horizontal surface. The seatbelt hole is .6" from each side of the lower
corner. This
puts the pulley hole below the seatbelt anchor hole (unlike the picture in
the
manual) and the two holes wind up an inch from each other. The pulley is 2
1/4" in diameter. Wouldn't they interfere? What am I missing?
And a quickie, how many 4" inspection panels to the fuel connectors did
people put in....1 or 2?

In the absence of a response from Andrew, it is probably worth repeating that
this (Matronics) list's own archive now holds all messages back to the beginning
on the old list in 1995.

Well, of course the F104 started (I believe) a series of pop-out hydraulic
pump props (The TriStar has a doozer) so why not an alternator or such? If I
remember properly one poor fish was sliceds in half underneat when power to
the last motor was cut in the cockpit - 600# spring and 6ft prop.

I don't doubt it Steve. I am no lighting engineer and I don't have the
patience to try to interconvert
between all the different specs for different lighting products. The
curious thing is, just like
in computing, these companies pick non-comparable specifications so that
direct, rational
choice is nearly impossible. I am not sure about comparing auto
headlights and AV landing lights.
At first pass, I'd think the AV light should have a more focussed beam
since the region of interest
is at least 1/4 - 1/2 mile away to start down to maybe 100 yards whereas
automotive lights
are most utilized inside 100 yards. Mind you these are just my
guestimations, but just try to
find real numbers for compaing different lights!

Dan,
I will be attending the Reno Air Races on Sat. only. Maybe we can get together.
I am a former Tucson resident now residing in Las Vegas. I have been flying
since January of this year and have 100 hours on the plane now with no complaints.
Just having a great time flying.

Thanks Bob,
Yes, I am now seeing how all the interferences can come into play. As long as
the measurements are right, I'm sitting OK. Back to the shop.

Mike,
I'm not sure what is available from Aircraft Spruce, but the one
from Flight Crafters is very nice. The one that Bob designed utilizes
some modifications and beefing up of the area under the seat. You can
contact Bob and he will provide you with some pix (I hope) of the
internals so you can mount the gear unit. See if Bob will get you some
new pix of his lovely bird. The modifications is reasonable in cost. I
was present for the original drop tests on his new gear. It is plenty
strong!!!! The design mimics the position of the wheel of the
Mono-wheel. Both in vertical and longitudinal positioning. So it
matches the original design for cg reasons.
