My vacuum gauge indicates too much vacuum, but I see no way of being able to
adjust it.
Turning the pin at the bottom of the regulator has no effect. I assume that
the gauge is
faulty because the guy who made my panel attached the hose to the wrong port
on the
gauge. I assume that the regulator is self-regulating, else what's the point
of having it ?
Has anyone had the same problem ?
Cheers, Karl Heindl

Dear Karl,
Have you tried turning the valve the other way? If you have too much vacuum you
need to bleed air into the system by opening the valve. The regulator is not
automatic, but requires being preset. Use at least 4500 rpm as your setting
up power.
Of course the vac gauge should indicate an increase by turning clockwise. If it's
been damaged due to incorrect installation, you should not trust its indication.
Best Regards

glad you have a Europa smile! I have to declare first that Alain Petit I
consider as a friend, however I have no hesitation in recommending his
PV50, I know several UK builders using it, they are in general very
satisfied and most problems/repairs have been dealt with efficiently. The
Kremen prop might be cheaper but there is not as much experience of it in
service although it does perform well. Either tends to give less vibration
than props with Warp Drive blades in my experience.

Dear Andy,
Thanks for the reply. Good to know that the regulator is adjustable, but any
number of turns
(of that spring loaded shaft in the centre) to the left or right makes no
difference. At idle
the needle is below the green, in the cruise way past it. I need to borrow a
gauge from
somewhere so I can isolate the problem.
Best regards, Karl
