Good day,
I start to decide me to buy a EUROPA XS 3 gears and I saw you mail and this
is very interesting but I have also a question:
Why you are selling it and do you think that build an XS is possible for
everyone or you are encounter some difficulties than you abandon this
project?
At least I am very interested by this opportunity in case all is correct
but, if you don't mind, could you give me your reasons why you are selling
someting that is at 80% finished?
Sorry for bother you.

I am installing the same EIS. Grand Rapids recommended using another fuel
flow sensor on the return line and the EIS figures the difference.
I was talking with Erich Trombley at the Reno Air Races and he described his
setup using just one flow sensor. The return line T's back in upstream of
the sensor, I believe. You should ask him, he says his setup is working well
with very good accuracy.

Hi all,
I have a Grand Rapids EIS with the fuel flow option and I doubt if it will
work in its current configuration. The 914 has an integrated manifold for
fuel in and fuel return. I can see no way of measuring flow without having
to compensate to the return flow. Has anyone had any experience using the
EIS system and there fuel flow sensor on a 914 installation ?
Thanks & regards,
Paul

I would have thought that the return fuel pipe should go into the tank and
not immediately into the feed to the engine. One very good reason for the
return is to avoid vapour locking and you need "cool" (well Cooler) fuel
from the tank to go into the engine area. If you promptly pump hot (warmer)
fuel from the engine area back there you will end up a very warm loop.
I mention this as in our hit British climate (well it has been this year) I
have been getting misfiring which I am almost certain is down to vapour
lock. Mine is 912S.
Of course if you use two sensors and in flow is measured to 1% and return
flow is measured to 1% the inaccuracy for A minus B will be considerably
more than 1%.

Ya, Erich said lots of people told him that it would cause hot fuel / vapor
lock problems. But he lives and flys out of Las Vegas. Talk about HOT! He
did also design his own cowling.
Hello, Erich?
