Hello Neville
Long aileron pushrod:
Trying to fit over the weekend, found that the end has a .923 diameter and the
ID of the tube has a .950 ID. Thus there is .027 clearance.
I was thinking about using some .002 brass shim stock to fill the gap. Would heat
the tube to perhaps 110F, have the ID of tube, both
sides of the brass foil and the OD of the end sanded a bit and cleaned, then coat
with some red locktight stud and bearing mount.
Does this procedure sound OK? Have another suggestion? I think the ends are machined
too small, you may want to check into it. Or I was supplied the wrong tube.
Tiedowns:
I have the monowheel. What would you suggest for tie down points on the wing and
fuse? The wing is open at the moment, off the cuff
making a hard point between the double rib with a removable eye??
Thanks
Ron Parigoris
Please note I sent the same question to Andy, not sure who is around.

Some time ago someone posted a better way to install the sternpost and
fin ribs than that method in the manual. I copied it but now cannot
find it. The time is come! The walrus said, to install the post and the
ribs!
Does any one have a copy or a clue?
Many thanks. Tom A078

Ron,
If I were not past this stage I would consider these tie downs that Steve
Dunsmuir is showing here at this link. Very nice.

Subject: | engine mounting / oil tank |

The bolts used to attach the engine to the landing gear frame are
described as both AN5-40 and AN5-41 in my copy of the build manual. I
have got AN5-40 with my kit although they seem a little on the short
side as when fully compressing the lord mounts I still cannot see the
bolt drilling for a split pin. Can anyone remember what mounting bolts
they have (XS 914).
Chapter 3 of my build manual tells me to cut the sheet steel for the oil
tank mounting bracket as shown in the diagram at the end of the chapter
- does anyone have such a diagram 'cos I 'ain't.
Regards

The Pictured tie downs are on a Cozy MKIV that my friend built. Due to the
wing design of the Cozy this piece was very easy to make. Just an over balanced
piece of aluminum. On the Europa it's a few more parts, well a lot more parts.
Still knocking around Ideas, but the wings are getting closed this week, So
unless I get inspired real quick I'm closing my wings with no tie downs and
adding something later. I was thinking of a piece of metal at a 45 off of the
outboard outrigger bolts. Rounded end sticking out of the speed kit. Should have
very low drag. I mocked it up and it looks nice.
