Hi Ron,
If you want to reach Andy or Neville, I guess the best addresses to use are:
mailto:andy@europa-aircraft.com and mailto:Neville@europa-aircraft.com.
Hope this helps,
Paul

"The bolts used to attach the engine to the landing gear frame are
described as both AN5-40 and AN5-41 in my copy of the build manual. "
The bolts that came with mine were AN5-40 and initially I had the same
feeling that hey were short. The AN5-40 turned out to be OK with, if I
remember rightly, one less washer. The 1.5 degree offset to the right was
spot on so I did not need washers to correct it. I believe you will only
need the longer bolts if the offset needs correcting.
" does anyone have such a diagram 'cos I 'ain't."
Page 3-3 should be the oil tank bracket diagram. This page does appear to
be missing from the PDF version of the manual on the Club CD. If you need a
paper copy I am sure the factory will send you one. If you have any
problems ring/e-mail me and I will copy mine and send it.

This engine (914) is throwing up more questions then the whole of the
project so far. Having disconnected the TCU and wastegate servo to mount
them aft of the firewall, the manual very succinctly tells me to make
holes as small as possible and use a suitable method of sealing.
I'm guessing that folk make holes to take the pressure sensors etc.
rather than the large TCU block connector through the fire wall. What is
a 'suitable method' of sealing - anyone got a pic or two. I suspect
seeing this sort of thing would be a great help.
Regards and thanks in anticipation

Yes that's correct but still end up with a big ugly hole. I'm using a
grommet to surround the bunch of cables, two overlapping sheets of
stainless steel to surround the grommet and then a big dollop of
firestop sealant to close everything else up.

Paul:
What I did was take a healthy sized thickness of aluminum sheet (plate?)
about .090" thick. I cut a rectangular hole in the firewall large enough to
easily fit the connector through. The aluminum was cut in a rectangle to
overlap the hole by a goodly amount. A bolt pattern is drilled through the
aluminum and transferred to the firewall. Now 2 feedthrough holes are
drilled in the aluminum plate. Since you already made a good sized hole in
the wall don't waste it by just making one feedthrough. Size the holes to
whatever size grommets you have or how many wires you expect to feed
through. Now that you have your holes take a slitting saw and cut the plate
in half through both feed through holes. Put your connectors through. Clip
a slit in your grommet to get it around the wires, assemble the grommet
into the 2 halfs of the aluminum plate and bolt the mess to the firewall
with the -3 screws. The small slit can be filled with high temp RTV. The
stiffness of the thicker aluminum makes this work nicely and doesn't look
bad either.

I'm with Paul. I've counted 14 different wires to breach the firewall, and
presume they can't all go through one hole. I was going to use the EAA book
method of stamping your own SS eyehole covers, but that's just too much of
an exercise.
