I noticed that the Smoothprime cracked and peeled off, even though filler could be sanded. It isn't easy to get accurate mixing with Superfill, I do it by weight, nearest 1/10th of a gram, most likely cause of my problem was settling altering the ratio of filler to hardener or resin, the hardener did look a bit wet. I have some all the way down one of my spars. Cheers, Mark.

Unless you cover it with enough of a required clear coat which does not stain; raw it smells like a latex, which we know from home fixup stains, if flat. I find it very durable, but how much durability and staining matters seemingly depends upon where in the cockpit you're applying it. Regards, Fred F.

Once it's got a couple of clear coats applied then its pretty tough. Based on the fact that the tunnel on my plane is covered in it and I've dropped tools on it, scrambled over it while diving into the back of the aircraft and given it far more abuse than it's going to see in live use I think it's fine. The exterior clear coat is tougher than the interior clear coat so I'd recommend you use that. Tony

--> Europa-List message posted by: "Jim Butcher" <europa@triton.net> Troy, I hope to spray Zolotone in the next month. Be sure to check their website for good application instructions. I'm using their primer since I think it will result in better results (I hope more durable!). I'm using my Axis citation HVLP. They say they've sprayed Zolotone with it. Will let you know. --> Europa-List message posted by: "Jim Butcher" <europa@triton.net> I stand corrected, BMA is approved for the kit airplane. Since its not certified, it cant go in the certified plane (Columbia 300 or 400). Its the only non certified EFIS approved by Lancair Avionics. If you havent looked at BMA's web site, do so. I think they are several years ahead of Dynon - I've been working with Greg for about 4 years & he's had quite a learning curve. The others are where he was then. Just my 2 cents worth.
